TOPS AND FLOPS OF THE MARKET: joys and disappointments of Juve, Roma, Lazio, Milan, Inter, Fiorentina and Napoli

Fireworks and red carpets in the summer, critics and boos in the fall. It's the hard life of market "hit"s, who went from saviors of the country to perfect scapegoats in less than two months. On the other hand, however, the opposite is also true: there are those who have kept their promises or, in the best of cases, done much more than expected on the eve. Let's then take advantage of the break to return to the market and take stock of the results top and flop of our Serie A.

FIORENTINA

Let's start with the biggest surprise of the championship, the leaders you don't expect. The performance of the group was very high starting with Paulo Sousa, a coach who arrived among the whistles (he was reproached for his Juventus past) and became, in a short time, a real idol of Fiesole. Of the new purchases they especially like Kalinic e Blaszczykowski, capable of establishing themselves in the Viola collective with the strength of champions. And to think that the Croatian, who arrived in the summer from Dnipro for 5,5 million, had been greeted with skepticism and indifference and that the Pole, taken from Borussia Dortmund for 7 million, seemed like the classic discard from the Bundesliga. Quite the opposite of Mario Suarez, hailed in the summer as Pradè's only hit and passed, in a few weeks, from a fixed point of Atletico Madrid to a permanent bench in Sousa's viola.

INTER

The top is definitely Stevan Jovetic, so far the most successful coup by the award-winning company Ausilio-Mancini, but Felipe Melo also deserves to be in the "good" part of the rankings. The two respectively brought goals (3 for Jo-Jo before the rectus femoris betrayed) and character, as well as a tactical balance only partially scratched by the Fiorentina debacle. On the other hand, Kondogbia and Ljajic enter the flops by right, at the moment unable to justify the money spent to bring them to Milan. Above all, the 36 million for the Frenchman are striking, so far completely disproportionate in terms of what has been seen on the pitch. In the limbo of purgatory Perisic, Biabiany and defenders Miranda, Murillo and Alex Telles: however, judgment will soon come for them too.

LAZIO

Chapter apart from Pioli's Lazio, mostly because the market was really low-key and had little or no impact on the starting eleven. The reality, in fact, is that the Biancocelesti started running again when the starters returned, above all Biglia, Djordjevic and Candreva. The exception is represented by Milinkovic, the only summer purchase able to carve out a space for itself and bring added value to the squad. To evaluate the young Kishna (something good has been seen) and Matri (two goals for him before returning to the bench to make room for Djordjevic), rejected instead Hoedt (in Formello they can't wait to embrace De Vrji) and Morrison (there is more talk of his tantrums than of his performance).

Roma

Fluctuating performance for yellow and red purchases, in perfect symbiosis with that of the team. Here too, as in the case of Inter, it is above all the flop of the most awaited reinforcement that makes the news, thatEdin Dzeko welcomed like a king and now in the crosshairs of critics and fans. In fact, before the injury his performance had been rather disappointing: only one goal (in August against Juve) and many insufficient performances, justified only in part by the team's difficulties. Rudiger is also bad, so much so that Garcia prefers to withdraw De Rossi rather than relying on him. In the top, however, no surprises: to shine, as expected, is above all Salah. He won't be the Messi of Egypt as they nickname him at home but the player is worth it, and how if he is worth it. Szczesny is also doing well, although Borisov's mistakes prevent him from being praised.

NAPLES

Unexpected tops and flops also for Sarri's Napoli, ironically betrayed by his trusted man. The disappointment, in fact, corresponds to the name of Valdifiori, who arrived from Empoli to explain the coach's game to his teammates and instead found himself admiring him from the bench. So also the inclusion of Hysaj, however capable of undermining Maggio from the starting eleven and of Chiriches, now Koulibaly's fixed reserve. Great joys come instead from Allan and Reina, and if there were few doubts about the Spanish goalkeeper, this was not the case for the Brazilian. All summer talking about Valdifiori and then meeting in October to admire him, a great added value of the Neapolitan midfield. Goals against Lazio and Milan, but above all lungs and brains. All at the service of Insigne, Higuain and Callejon, who have become devastating like never before. In short, 12 million spent well, indeed very well.

MILAN

The top is Kucka and this would already be enough to explain much of the AC Milan crisis. Seriously, Milan are in great difficulty and the transfer market is under accusation. They were 86,5 million invested to reinforce the team but, between San Siro and Milanello, hardly anyone noticed. It makes you smile then that the best purchases, performance in hand, have been the least expensive ones: Kucka precisely (from Genoa for 3 million) and Balotelli (free loan from Liverpool). Supermario has done well up to now but the 229 minutes played are still too few to make a judgement. In purgatory, in clear descent compared to the beginning, there are Bacca, Luiz Adriano and Romagnoli: off to a good start (especially the two forwards) they gradually amalgamated with the general mediocrity. However, the flop is another and here Berlusconi's wallet seems to cry out for revenge. Let's talk about Bertolacci, until now a symbol of a Milan in great difficulty, well beyond the most pessimistic forecasts. The 20 million disbursed to his friend Preziosi already seemed like a lot in the summer, now they have become simply absurd. San Siro has already targeted him, he has the task of making him change his mind.

JUVENTUS

Here too there is little to smile about, despite the very latest results leading to cautious optimism for the resumption of games. It was known that Juve was a difficult market, on the other hand in a revolution of this magnitude mistakes are almost obvious. Hernanes and Alex Sandro end up on the bench of the "bad guys", the first (from Inter for 11 million) slow and awkward as ever, the second mysterious object and fixed reserve. Given the 26 million spent to snatch him from Porto, much more was expected, but at the moment, however, little or nothing has been seen of the Brazilian. In the tops, on the other hand, they end up by right Cuadrado e Khedira, not surprisingly among the few to save themselves from the black and white storm. The Colombian is at Fiorentina's level, the German looks like he used to in Madrid, when Mourinho didn't take him off even under torture. Well, but not very well, Dybala: the performance is good, but it is a pity that Allegri finds it difficult to see him among the owners. To review Mandzukic, Zaza and Lemina, with the Croatian just enough until the injury (1 goal in the Champions League, 0 in the league) and the other two forced to the crumbs left by their teammates.
