European Tobin Tax, still no agreement

European Tobin Tax, still no agreement

Still no deal on the financial transaction tax. The eleven countries of the "enhanced cooperation", including Italy, France and Germany, have not found an agreement on the so-called Tobin Tax and, at this point, it cannot be ruled out that they will succeed within the current year.

All postponed to 2015, therefore, even if doubts grow on the actual possibility of the agreement. In particular, there are two issues still to be resolved: the principle on the basis of which the Tobin Tax must be applied (principle of residence or issue) and the mechanism for ensuring its payment.
