Agreement between France and the US on the tax on financial transactions. The two countries have reached a "common point", which could be included in the final G20 communiqué.

The announcement was made by the French president Nicolas Sarkozy at the end of a bilateral meeting with his US counterpart, Barack Obama. Until now, Washington had always said it was strongly against the hypothesis.
