Tommaso Pompei, former number one of Wind, will be the future manager of the newco announced by Enel for the construction of the fiber network for ultra-broadband which will be open to other telephone operators (Vodafone and Wind in the lead)
The newco decided and announced yesterday by Enel for the construction of the fiber network for ultra-broadband will be led by an old fox of Italian telecommunications: Tommaso Pompei, already number one at Wind before the Egyptian Sawiris took over it from Enel.
The Enel newco will be open to other telephone operators (Vodafone and Wind in the lead) and will have to participate above all in tenders in market failure areas for which the Government has allocated 2,2 billion euros.
