Tlc: from America Movil maxi-offer for 28% of Kpn

America Movil has offered $2,64 billion to buy 28% of KPN. The telecommunications giant controlled by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim already has 4,8% of the Dutch operator in its portfolio.

"The investment in Kpn represents the first significant investment by America Movil in Europe - reads a press release - and Kpn represents an interesting operation with an important position in the European market".

The offer is equal to 8 euros per share and implies a premium of around 24% compared to yesterday's close of the stock Kpn, which today flies on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, up about 17%.

Slim, the richest man in the world, check out the Latin American mobile phone market. Its companies have approximately 225 million customers in 18 countries. America Movil closed 2011 with a turnover of 39,13 billion euros.
