Tim, extraordinary Board Friday on Persidera

The extraordinary Board of Directors (BoD) of will be held on Friday 23 February 2018 TIM on the Persidera dossier, to evaluate the only offer received, the binding joint one from F2i e Rai Way. Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, the Guardia di Finanza carried out an inspection of the Telecom headquarters in Rome, on behalf of the Antitrust, on the Cassiopea dossier (now suspended).

OPERATION LOST

According to rumors, the offer of 250 million euros would be at least 100 million lower than hoped for. By February 28, Telecom Italia must send the EU the answer on how it intends to get rid of Persidera in which it holds 70% of the capital (the remaining 30% is in the hands of Gedi), thus implementing thecommitment made with the European Antitrust which considers it incompatible with the simultaneous presence of the controlling shareholder Vivendi also in Mediaset.

THE CASSIOPEAN CASE

The inspection by the Guardia di Finanza in the Telecom Italia offices, on the orders of the Antitrust authority chaired by Giovanni Pitruzzella, is aimed at the incumbent of the TLCs because it concerns an extension of the investigation opened a few months ago on the Cassiopea project - now suspended – for investments in fiber in market failure areas where the public tenders have been won by Open Fiber. In particular, the Antitrust provision is aimed at ascertaining the behavior of the former monopolist in the wholesale price strategies applied to alternative operators for broadband and ultra-broadband and the use of privileged information relating to the customers of competitors in the retail market, always relatively broadband and ultra-broadband.

The title Telecom Italy is up slightly in Piazza Affari, with a positive percentage change of 0,4% compared to the previous session.

Comparatively on a weekly basis, the trend of telephone company shows a more marked trend than the trendline FTSE MIB. This demonstrates the greater propensity of investors to buy towards Telecom compared to the index.

The medium-term situation of thetelephone company remains tendentially bearish. However, looking at the short-term chart, one would be starting to question the possibility of the bear phase extending. An upward improvement of the curve is therefore expected, which encounters the first obstacle at 0,7277 euros. Support seen at 0,7073 level. Further bullish ideas favor a new target estimated probably in the 0,7481 area.
