Tim: “Risorgimento Digitale” expands with new partners

On the occasion of the Safer Internet Day, international day for the conscious and safe use of the internet, over 20 new partners join the "Operation Risorgimento Digitale", the free internet school launched by Tim last November, to encourage the dissemination of digital skills and knowledge among citizens, businesses and public administrations.

Furthermore, from the end of February, TIM has intensified its commitment: every week three internet schools will cross Italy, so the operation will be able to reach three cities in different regions simultaneously. An extensive program of activities that will be intensified thanks to the addition of two other schools alongside the one already operational and to the organized classroom courses. In this way, while the project continues to develop in the regions of southern Italy, training activities will simultaneously begin in the territories of the north-east and north-west, thus permitting a strong acceleration in the implementation of the project.

The project, which started from Marsala, crossed all the Sicilian provinces until arriving in Calabria. The format of the initiative includes four weeks of courses in each city visited by the tour: the first week inside the TIM truck located in the main squares, divided into 10 short training sessions lasting less than an hour, where interested people can learn to use the main digital services. In the following three weeks, however, the courses take place in the classroom, through a program divided into 3 modules, each of two hours, in order to teach participants how to navigate, communicate and share on the net. In parallel, courses for public administrations are also activated, in order to provide employees with all the skills necessary to face the digital transformation in the PA.

The new partners who will support TIM in this endeavor are: Google, Cisco, Hewlett, Packard, OPPO, SAP, Adobe, Manpower, Xiaomi, Arthur D. Little, PricewaterhouseCooper, Boston Consulting Group, as well as INWIT and Olivetti. The initiative has also obtained the support of trade associations, the third sector and important players in the field of social innovation.

“Networking is an essential condition for achieving strategic synergies and collaborations for the digital development of territories – he declared Salvatore Rossi, president of TIM – We are very proud to once again contribute to the growth of digital culture, making available to Italy not only the skills of the entire Group, but also its ability to know how to aggregate important public and private entities” .

“On the web, no one should be left behind. This is exactly why our project was born,” he tweeted Paola pisano, Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitization.
