Tim, Genish: "No Prejudice on the Network"

During yesterday morning's meeting with the president of the Communications Regulatory Authority, "Tim proposed the opening of a technical table to analyze together any improvements to be made to the current network governance model". This was announced by Amos Genish, CEO of Telecom Italia, yesterday leaving the Ministry of Economic Development, where he had gone for an interview (the third) with Minister Carlo Calenda.

According to what was reported by the Israeli manager, the president of Agcom, Angelo Marcello Cardani, “welcomed Tim's suggestion and expressed full willingness to evaluate the path to take. The president of the Antitrust was promptly informed of the process, who encouraged the start of an in-depth and timely dialogue on the network".

Tim's will with regard to the network, Genish underlined again, "is to develop together with the regulator the most suitable management model for the Italian context, without excluding any solution a priori, but without even adhering to solutions developed in other countries that have proved unsuccessful".

If "after the ongoing analysis process, a more advanced model than the current one proves necessary to ensure greater network openness - added the manager - Tim believes that the new model should be tailor-made for Italy and shared with all the main actors”, i.e. authorities and institutions.

As for the last meeting with Calenda, Genish judged it "positive", explaining that he "also shared with the minister what was discussed during the last BoD of December 5th, and that is that Tim will continue to examine the various hypotheses for improving the current network access model to respond to the inputs of the institutions and to create value”.

Of all this, concluded Genish, "we will continue to update Minister Calenda", even if the date of the next meeting with the minister has not yet been set.
