Tim and University: agreements to support the dad

Tim alongside Italian universities to support distance learning. The Group has signed over 20 agreements with the main universities in the country to supply 200 SIMs and modems to students. The project stems from the need to limit travel as much as possible in light of the health emergency, guaranteeing students the right to study thanks to the support of online teaching.

In detail, the agreements consist in the supply by TIM to the Universities of over 200 thousand sims with differentiated data profiles (gigabit) and the rental of the same number LTE/WiFi modems that the Universities will allocate to students free of charge based on income or regularity in study courses. These agreements will be followed by others in the near future.

Furthermore, the telecommunications company has made itself available to distribute the SIMs and the relative modems through its shops in the respective territories, or through home deliveries throughout Italy and Europe.

The goal is to facilitate students and their families in the use of courses and use of digital services offered by universities. The initiative is part of other projects that TIM had already started some time ago with universities to support technological research and new talent.

Among the main universities participating in the initiative are: University of Eastern Piedmont, University of Turin, University of Genoa, University of Insubria, University of Pavia, University of Padua, Iuav University of Venice, University of Udine, University of Ferrara, University of Parma, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, University of Bologna, University of Florence, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Sannio, University of Studies of Salerno, University of Basilicata, University of Calabria, University of Magna Graecia of Catanzaro and University of Palermo. The initiative is also joined by the Regional Agency for the Right to University Education of Basilicata and the Magna Graecia University Foundation of Catanzaro.
