Tim , Italian Federation of Professional Road Hauliers (FIAP) have signed an agreement to encourage the adoption of digital solutions aimed at road haulage companies. These are over 1.200 entrepreneurial realities in the sector logistics and freight transport represented by the Federation at a national level, to support them in the digital transformation process through the adoption of technological solutions capable of responding to the renewed needs of the sector.

The operator, he explains in a note, will make its connectivity solutions and advanced services available using the skills of Noovle for Cloud and edge computing solutions, Olivetti for the Internet of Things, Telsy for Cybersecurity.

Tim and Fiap: the advantages of the agreement

“Digital solutions will simplify the logistics management of goods transport along the entire supply chain, ranging from the production of goods, to their deposit in storage platforms and warehouses, up to delivery to customers, involving means of transport, warehouses and sorting centers”, explains Tim in a note adding that "among the areas of intervention, we range from the location, monitoring and tracking of vehicle fleets to interactive communication between vehicles and producers/distributors of goods, up to the certification of deliveries through digital procedures and tools, to monitoring of the cold chain and the management of the safety of workers and goods". And again "ultrabroadband connectivity solutions are included for industrial development areas, ports, freight villages, logistics hubs, available to members to be able to take advantage of all the opportunities of Smart Logistics & Transportation 4.0".

The agreement, which renews the collaboration already started last year, will make it possible to create new business opportunities and respond to the renewed needs of the sector by generating a positive impact in economic, social and environmental sustainability terms of the supply chain.
