The Foundation, born in 2022, has the aim of creating a new model of sustainability for Venice and its geographical surroundings.

Tim has joined the Venice Foundation, World Capital of Sustainability (FVCMS)/Venice Sustainability Foundation as co-founder.

What it is Fondazione Venezia World Capital of Sustainability

Venice Foundation, World Capital of Sustainability (FVCMS) was established on March 14, 2022, under the patronage of the Italian Government. FVCMS works for the realization of a new model of sustainability for Venice and its geographical surroundings which makes it possible to recreate in a stable form that fruition experience (residential, work, tourist) which for centuries has made these places without equal.

The Foundation is made up of a structured partnership, made up of regional and local territorial bodies, the main Venetian cultural and academic institutions and a group of large companies interested in the sustainable development of the Venetian surroundings.

Tim's entry into the foundation

Tim had already made Venice there first Italian smart city thanks to the project of Smart Control Room.

With entry into the foundation, the Group will put a disposal of the foundation its own knowledge and the skills in digital technologies in the 5G, IoT, Cloud, AI, Analytics, Cybersecurity and HPC fields to support sustainable mobility and tourism, environmental transition, safety and health of citizens. Thanks to data management, it will be possible to manage the phenomena that cross the city in the most appropriate way by governing their impact and improving the quality of life of those who live and carry out activities in the lagoon city and in its metropolitan surroundings.

The areas of intervention of the Tim Group fall within its own ESG strategy and strongly characterize the life of the city of Venice and its ability to develop in a sustainable way.

Among the founding members there are from FVCMS: Veneto Region, Municipality of Venice, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, IUAV University of Venice, Academy of Fine Arts, Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music, Cini Foundation, Confindustria Veneto, Snam, Eni, Enel Italia, Generali, Boston Consulting Group.

In the role of co-founding members of the FVCMS we find: Amazon, AdSP of the northern Adriatic Sea, Autostrade per l'Italia, Venice and Rovigo Chamber of Commerce, Eagle Pictures, Enfinity, Italian State Railways, Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, Venice Foundation, Leonardo, Marsilio, Microsoft , Poste Italiane, San Lorenzo, SAVE Group, Sorgente Group, Terna, Ambrosetti, TIM, Umana, Venice International University.

Il president is the Hon. Professor Renato Brunetta, with vice presidents Luca Zaia, president of the Veneto Region, e Louis Brugnaro, Mayor of Venice.
