Tim: LTE connection at 300 Mbps per second by the end of the year

TIM accelerates on LTE technology and promises the arrival of a "real" 300 Mbps connection by the end of 2015.

This was announced today by the company that presented the "Three Carrier Aggregation" solution. The latter. combining three available frequency bands - 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz - will allow TIM to achieve a real data transmission speed of up to 300 Mbits per second download, increasing the fluency and stability of Internet browsing.

“Three Carrier Aggregation” in turn represents an evolution of Carrier Aggregation and will arrive at the end of the year, the period in which the first compatible devices will be marketed.

At the same time, Tim communicates that, again at the research and innovation laboratories of the Telecom Italia Group, they have been reached 450 Mbit/s, the maximum speed achievable by LTE Advanced; a result obtained thanks to the partnership started with Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies Inc.

“With the introduction of Three Carrier Aggregation in our network – he declares Robert Opilio, Operations Director of Telecom Italia – the Telecom Italia Group once again demonstrates its ability to innovate and confirms its leadership in research and development activities on mobile networks. With this new carrier aggregation – continued Opilio – we want to make available to our customers an increasingly faster and more reliable infrastructure, capable of responding to the growing demand for mobile long band linked to the use of innovative services and applications.”
