Telecom Italy (today Tim) wants to accelerate onnetwork integration with Open Fiber and, leveraging on the recent favorable position taken by Economy Minister Roberto Gualtieri, it will shortly inform all the institutions on the state of the art, starting with the Government.
This was established yesterday by Tim's Board of Directors, chaired by Salvatore Rossi, who appreciated the work done by CEO Luigi Gubitosi in this sense, encouraging him to go ahead.
But the Board also took note and welcomed it the non-exclusive offer made by the American fund KKR to acquire a share of the network, naturally taking into account – here is the importance of dialogue with the Government – that the network itself is one of those strategic assets for national security on which the Government can enforce the Golden power.
Finally, Tim won the Infratel race for the realization of the Wi-Fi connections in over 5.500 Italian municipalities with more than 2 inhabitants: an order worth 33 million.
