Tim, FiberCop and Connectivia agreement on fiber to the house

Develop the market for optical fiber up to home. This is the goal of the agreement between FiberCop, an infrastructure company of the Tim Group, e Connectivia. The parties have defined the participation of the Campania operator in the co-investment project on the FiberCop network, a Tim Group company that builds the secondary fiber optic access network up to homes. With the aim of contributing to the digitization of the country and offering high quality connectivity.

The co-investment model allows all interested operators to participate in the development of optical fiber in Italy in a framework of infrastructural competition. It also speeds up the overcoming of the digital divide nationwide and makes ultra-broadband connections available to households and businesses with speeds exceeding 1 Gigabit per second.

According to the agreement – reads a note – Connectivia will use, in 6 municipalities of Campania, the secondary fiber optic access network to FiberCop's homes according to the "Access to the optical cabinet" model, based on the purchase, in 20-year IRU mode, of dedicated fiber infrastructure equipment (primary and secondary splitters and optical patch cords).

Connectivia's adhesion to the co-investment offer, made by a group led by Luigi Gubitosi through FiberCop, follows that of other important operators, such as Fastweb e Iliad and confirms the validity of the FiberCop investment plan which will ensure FTTH coverage to 75% of the country's gray and black areas by 2025.
