Granoro becomes a historic brand of national interest: success of the regional durum wheat supply chain project

For 10 years Granoro has been at the head of a supply chain project for the enhancement and sustainability of 100% Apulian durum wheat. High quality pasta in the name of a tradition that has been going on since 1967. And thanks to these characteristics, the Granoro pasta factory of Corato was registered in recent days in Register of historical brands of national interest.

Specialized in the production of dry durum wheat semolina pasta, it has obtained recognition from Ministry of Economic Development which takes care of the special Register. Becoming part of it is not easy, given that it was created to "protect the industrial property of historical Italian companies”. Those who are part of it must first of all be rooted in the territory, as well as having registered the company brand for at least 50 years. Thus there are companies such as Olio Carli, Cirio, Derby, Amaro Lucano, Yoga, Sperlari and dozens of other companies that have not yet emigrated abroad.

Granoro becomes a historical brand of national interest: the products are appreciated on all markets

Since its foundation, the Granoro company has demonstrated that it has production continuity and selection of raw materials. The wheat for the production of the Dedicato line is totally regional, it is grown in the areas of the Capitanata and of the low board: what was once the "granary of Italy".

Thanks to this project, they say in the company, we know the names and surnames of the farmers in the supply chain and every hectare of land they cultivate. Enrollment in the Mise is a success of the South and of a Region which, not only in agriculture, is committed to getting out of the stereotypes of backwardness.

Just in the food sector, after the critical months of the pandemic, Puglia has started running again to recover the lost ground.

Millions of consumers around the world appreciate the products made in Puglia which, in case Granoro, refer to the artisan working determination of the 60s of Attilio Mastromauro and his wife Chiara.

The founder passed away in 2015 but is remembered as a pioneer of the Italian pasta industry. The pasta factory, the wheat, the flour. Then the development and success also with tomatoes, oil, legumes, biscuits, flours. P"eco" production and marketing also in packaging, paper and CO2 reduction.

At the head of the company today there are the two daughters of the founders, Marina and Daniela. “We are proud to have achieved this prestigious award – she says Marina Mastromauro – which rewards the efforts of my father and mother, as well as those of our large extended family made up of all our collaborators, custodians of the love for pasta over time”. After all, in the company they still remember Attilio's words: "the search for the best is a continuous and daily commitment and tomorrow we will be able to do better than yesterday". A brand from historical register.
