«The theme of this particular birthday party could only be a reflection on the coronavirus and therefore, for this year, the tones will be a little different and less playful than in previous editions. But we believe this is correct. However, with "Via dall'Inferno" we wanted to underline the desire to overcome this great crisis together and promote a path that takes us out of this difficult moment».

With these words the director of MUSE – Science Museum Michael Lanzinger anticipate the program of Midsummer MUSE – Out of Hell!, the event that Saturday 25 July 2020, from 16.30 to midnight, will animate the large garden of the Museum on the occasion of the seventh birthday of the Science Museum. A day of activities and workshops aimed at families, DJ sets and reflections on the role of science in emergency situations. All in the name of safety and spacing.

An appointment, this year in a completely renewed guise, which aims to offer the public new perspectives and tools that infuse people with responsibility and the right spirit to face tomorrow – in a more conscious way.

To read what happened from February 2020 to today at the level of scientific research, of choices in terms of forecasting and risk management by institutions, of communication and perception by citizens, two exceptional guests: Roberta Villa, member of the government's anti-fake news task force and journalist with a degree in medicine and surgery, e Carla Broccardo, co-founder of AFI – Associazione Futuristi Italiani, protagonists of the scientific talk of 21.30 by Title “Communicating the pandemic. Current and possible future scenarios”.

To follow, at 22.30, the projection by the Cultural Services Center of Santa Chiara film "HELL" (1911, duration 71′), remastered and set to live music by the electro-acoustic ensemble Edison Studio, will lead the audience "to see the stars", as stated in the last verse of the first canticle of the Divine Comedy. The program of Midsummer MUSE however, it comes alive already in the afternoon. It starts at 16.30 in the large garden and in the vegetable gardens of the Museum with workshops and games for families and children (free activities with reservations required at 0461/270311) to creatively investigate the connections that cross our planet.

From 17.30 to 21 the rooms of the Museum are open to the public free of charge, upon online booking, while the installation can be visited in the garden until 23pm #actnow, an artistic space created in collaboration and with the support of Niederstätter where one can ask questions about the present and seek answers for the future of our planet on the basis of 17 Goals for sustainable development of the UN Agenda 2030.

The evening program, starting at 21.15 with i greetings from the authorities, is anticipated from 19.30 by a apericena edited by MUSE Cafe and from dj set lounge by PierDj. On this occasion, the MUSE, speaking of leaving behind the fear of Covid, also announced that from August 3st the obligation to enter the museum only with a guided tour will cease and return to the free-use mode with independent visit. However, the limits related to safety remain, such as the limited number of entrances, the obligation to wear a mask in closed spaces and the maximum stay of XNUMX hours.
