The green challenge brings together Enel and Confagricoltura

A year ago the Memorandum of Understanding, now the most suitable package of solutions. Enel and Confagricoltura are pressing the time to increase the competitiveness of the Italian agricultural sector in the transition to a green economy. Enel X and Enel Energia, in particular, are the partners of the agricultural world organization that are approaching a new industrial and commercial frontier. From September we will explain to the territories the contents of everything concerning photovoltaic systems, renewable energy communities, infrastructures for electric mobility. An ambitious plan to exploit the opportunities offered by the ecological and energy transition project particularly dear to Mario Draghi's government.

More generally we are witnessing the enhancement of a piece of the economy in the game of checks and balances between national sectors. Not all of the green economy passes through manufacturing and operations often prove to be easier to apply in the countryside. "With this understanding," he says Carlo Tamburi, Director of Enel Italy - Enel intends to strengthen the natural alliance between renewable sources, sustainable energy solutions and the agricultural sector. The transition to a more sustainable development model and the achievement of climate neutrality objectives is not possible without providing agricultural businesses with opportunities for growth and technological innovation ». The two entities - Enel and Confagricoltura - will also work together to promote the harmonious growth of plants and crops. We will therefore have to see the practical effects in the single Regionsthe. Perhaps as a priority, in those furthest behind in terms of energy but with good growth potential. It is also conceivable that the widespread organization of Confagricoltura will give strength to the agreements.

The European context with the funds of the PNRR will have to facilitate the use of renewable sources in the various agricultural segments. How much will the search for the best technological solutions at low prices and tariffs stimulate farmers to pursue levels of energy efficiency? « The fight against climate change and the improvement of sustainability – he replies Massimiliano Giansanti, president of Confagricoltura – pass through farms. Agriculture can make its contribution on issues related to environmental sustainability, the reduction of emissions, the absorption of CO2, as well as the production of green energy ». Renewable energies, and photovoltaics in particular, have experienced significant development in the last fifteen years, allowing companies to actively participate in the decarbonisation of the electricity sector and to support the ecological transition of the sector. In a similar dynamism we find the rediscovery of land and agro-agriculture by hundreds of young people that since the times of the Renzi and Gentiloni governments have participated in tenders for the assignment of unexploited lands. Their managerial approach and vision of sustainability as an economic value also spread trust in this type of agreement. They certainly need help.

There are in the signed documents project studies to evaluate the economic convenience and commercial feasibility, products for electricity and gas commodities, the Circular Economy Report to measure the circularity of the company with audits and improvement actions for energy efficiency. On the installation of photovoltaic systems, on the creation of renewable energy communities, on electric recharging infrastructures, in the end we will measure the willingness of thousands of agricultural companies not to exclude themselves from a battle for progress. We can't afford it.
