A few days after the downgrading of half of Europe operated by Standard & Poor's, some agents of Guardia di Finanza entered the rating agency's Milan office to carry out some checks.
The Fiamme Gialle operation is located within an investigation that has been underway for some time in the Trani prosecutor's office, on the base of the complaint presented by the consumer associations Abusdef and Federconsumatori against just about Standard & Poor's and Moody's, that accuses the two agencies of market manipulationor with "false, unfounded or otherwise imprudent judgments" on the Italian economic system.
There are 6 suspects: 3 top Standard & Poor's analysts (also accused of abuse of privileged information, for having disseminated tendentious news on open markets in 2011 on the Italian situation), a Moody's analyst and the legal managers of the two agencies.
