The City of Pizza is back: 60 pizza makers from all over Italy at Tor di Quinto Park in Rome

Two days of full pizza from the great classics to the new creations, in all its versions: "Napoletana", "All'Italiana", "Tasting", "Roman", "Al taglio", "Fritta" and "Gluten Free"

La Città della Pizza in Rome is back in style. For the 2022 edition, the event conceived by Vinòforum will take place entirely en plein air, in the Tor di Quinto park, a stone's throw from Ponte Milvio, one of the nightlife centers of the capital. Between the suggestive lake and the 12.000 mXNUMX of greenery, there will be Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 May, a selection of best national pizza makers, including 28 master pizza makers, for two days entirely dedicated to the product most loved by Italians, an authentic icon worldwide.

Will 14 this year the ''houses'' of La Città della Pizza which will host a turnover of over 28 masters pizza makers from all over the peninsula. New faces and great confirmations who will propose the different ones categories of pizza "Neapolitan", "Italian style", "Tasting", "Roman", "Breaded", "Fried" and "Gluten Free". Also for this edition there will be i “Italian fried” represented by the inevitable Roman supplì and the iconic Neapolitan pasta omelette signed by the Gerardo di Nola artisan pasta factory.

Each house will churn out three distinct proposals, from the great classics to new creations, for a total of almost 90 different pizzas and fried foods that will delight the thousands of pizza lovers who await the only Italian event able to bring together, in one large space, the best you can find on the pizza theme.

But La Città della Pizza 2022 will also be full of laboratories for enthusiasts, workshops for operators and activities that will involve dozens and dozens of great master pizza makerswho will take the chair to teach, discuss and entertain the public. The workshops for children signed by AVPN - Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in collaboration with OONI, the ovens dedicated to pizza lovers, are not to be missed.

All the appointments will have free access and they will be bookable directly on the event logo.

In addition to tasting the pizzas baked by the 14 houses of La Città della Pizza, guests looking for a unique experience will have the opportunity to participate in meetings, with limited places, of Pizza & Champagne in collaboration with ruinart, the oldest Maison de Champagne. The project – carried out in collaboration with Molino Magri a Mantuan family-run business for 5 generations dedicated to quality and innovation – it includes two lunches and two dinners, featuring four great Italian pizza masters, each of whom will present a special menu.
Saturday 28 May, among others, Marco Quintili will propose itsGrill on fire” (smoked provola cheese, pecorino romano, cuvée pepper, black pig cheek); While Giancarlo Casa the “Pizza Maggiolina” (bean cream, first salt from the Roman countryside, broad beans, ciauscolo and pecorino romano flakes). Sunday 29 May will be the turn of Stephen Miozzo which will delight guests with the "Ribelle" (Bufala Mozzarella DOP, salad, smoked salmon fillet, stracciatella, toasted sesame seeds and sour raspberry pearls); Sardinian instead Christian Tolu propose "insularity”(Pea coulis, marinated shrimp tartare with lime, ginger and mint, stracciatella, chopped pistachios and shrimp bisque).

Also for this edition the lo is renewed Stand Up Pizza space, a stage dedicated to pizza chefs who want to make themselves known. The talent and passion of 10 pizza chefs will compete for the chance to win a place in one of the houses of the next Città della Pizza.

To select all the masters of La Città della Pizza, coming from every corner of the peninsula, the team of authors composed by Emiliano De Venuti, creator of the event and CEO of Vinòforum and by journalists and pizza experts Luciano Pignataro, Luciana Squadrilli and Tania Mauri. New entry Alessandro Tartaglia and Simone Mascagni founders of Al.ta Cucina, one of the most important Italian networks dedicated to the world of cooking.

The beverage offer will also give satisfaction, starting with the Baladin-branded craft beer, with different labels to pair with pizzas; from white to blonde, from amber to a gluten-free proposal. Naturally there will be no shortage of Italian bubbles, and which ones if not Prosecco DOC thanks to the collaboration with Puntocuore for a toast in the name of conviviality. The space dedicated to quality companies producing raw materials such as flour, tomatoes, dairy products and cured meats is also fundamental, artisans of taste who create ingredients that are the protagonists of the best pizza recipes.
