The clean hydrogen auction rewards 7 projects. The great absent Italy can make up for it

The first auction assigns the first European funds for initiatives that are crucial for the sustainable economy but Italy is not there

The clean hydrogen auction rewards 7 projects. The great absent Italy can make up for it

Auctions are the EU's preferred tool for hydrogen projects. Everyone in Brussels agreed in recent months to let them go ahead and the first one ended with 720 million euros awarded. Real money that stays very far away from Italy, however, where there are still many initiatives. There are 7 approved projects and they belong to Finland, Spain, Portugal and Norway. In short, the European Hydrogen Bank started without Italy and that is not a good thing. Indeed, the result must remind the government and institutions that in the autumn there will be the second auction with a portfolio of 2,2 billion euros. The two ministers of Made in Italy and the Environment, in the name of overflowing nationalism, should find out why we are out.

In the national plan, 52 proposals were financed and 800 million euros were granted. Whoever won the financing from the auction will produce renewable hydrogen and the available euros will also serve to cover the production costs and the market price of hydrogen. The keys to the world market today are in the hands of the producers of black or gray, clearly not clean H2. It is an ongoing game in which if you are out, you lose not only money, but prestige and competitiveness. Values that the Prime Minister recalls on every occasion that are monetized in the industrial field.

The price battle

“The European Hydrogen Bank contributes to the expansion of cleaner fuels that will contribute to the decarbonisation of European industry. The renewable hydrogen produced will be used in sectors such as steel, chemicals, maritime transport and fertilisers, the Commission explained. Sectors into which millions of euros of the Pnrr have been invested and which need to switch to non-polluting sources. Paradoxes have never scared anyone in Italy, but in the field of green hydrogen research they are necessary

or to spread and make money. Let's look for the reasons why complicated times are ahead for which we invent but then they don't reward us
The auctions can count on the proceeds coming from the EU Emissions Trading System, the system of emissions trading of carbon in force since 2005.

There were 132 applications for the first auction, 7 were selected and the projects will produce 1 and a half million tons of hydrogen over the next 10 years. The maximum time allowed to start working is 5 years. An important final point concerns the price. In the awarded projects the price fluctuates between 0,37 and 0,48 euros per kg. Let's keep it clearly visible and prepare for the next round. The price is a shortcut even for those absent today.
