Testament Del Vecchio: Delfin divided into eight equal shares, surprisingly there is also Rocco Basilico

The shareholding of Delfin – safe of the Del Vecchio family – will be divided into eight equal parts. The empire of Leonardo Del Vecchio, who died on 27 June last, is divided into eight shares of 12,5% each. Delfin itself communicated the new shareholding structure, after the opening of the testamentary dispositions of Leonardo del Vecchio. And so, both the wife of the great businessman who died, Nicoletta Zampillo and her children are holders of 12,5%. Surprisingly, among the heirs there is also Rocco Basilico, son of Nicoletta Zampillo's first marriage and manager, for several years, in the EssiloLuxottica group.

Together they will have to divide an empire valued at around 30 billion and made up of stakes in important industries (EssilorLuxottica, Conviviò) and financial stakes such as those in Mediobanca and Generali or Unicredit.

Testament of the Old Man: the press release of Delfin

This is the Delfin press release: «Following the opening of the testamentary dispositions of the founder Cav Leonardo Del Vecchio, who passed away on 27 June 2022, the current composition of the corporate structure was communicated to Delfin. In particular, it should be noted that the company's capital is divided among the following shareholders, each holding 12,5%: Nicoletta Zampillo Del Vecchio, Claudio Del Vecchio, Marisa Del Vecchio, Paola Del Vecchio, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, Luca Del Vecchio, Clemente Del Vecchio and Rocco Basilico. The Board will meet shortly to implement the new shareholding structure and to take note of the integration of the administrative body in accordance with the statute, it being understood that no other testamentary provisions with effects on the company's governance have been communicated».

Some family members already hold managerial positions within the EssilorLuxottica group: Leonardo Maria, born of Zampillo and Del Vecchio, heads the Italian retail division of Luxottica, while Rocco Basilico, son of Zampillo and the financier Paolo Basilico (founder of Kairos and Samhita Investment), is CEO of Oliver Peoples, a company acquired in 2007.

In a recent modification of the statute of Delfin, the deceased great entrepreneur had ordered that important decisions be taken with 88% of the voting capital, which is equivalent to saying unanimously.
