Tesla: the electric car that beats the European giants

Tesla to conquer Europe. There Model S of the US house, the all-electric luxury car launched in 2013, is experiencing enormous success and popularity in recent times, and especially in Europe, where petroleum and diesel engines are taxed in several countries, and where Tesla has registered a significant increase in sales, even surpassing many German luxury cars.

Comparing sales of the Model S to those of Europe's traditionally best-selling luxury cars (the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 and Mercedes Benz S-Class), Tesla's electric vehicle recorded 2015 sales in the first nine months of 10.600 , versus 4,700 for the Audi A8 and 2.650 for the BMW 7 Series. Compared to the S-class, Tesla's car sold just 800 fewer vehicles.

An exceptional result, which also ignores the different levels of taxation of petroleum and diesel engines in different countries European countries. Numbers, those of Tesla, which will perhaps be destined to change the launch of the latest BMW 7 series and the new Audi models, but certainly the success of the Model S represents an absolute novelty, because it is the first time that an electric car has known a such success in Europe.

While Tesla prepares to launch its own Model X, the change undergone by the car market, European and beyond, and the shift of an ever-increasing number of consumers towards the electric car remains clear.
