Terrorism in front of the European Parliament: blood on Strasbourg

Terrorist attack on the Strasbourg Christmas market. In the French city that hosts one of the seats of the European Parliament, a man fired into the crowd in the lights of the stalls, around 8 in the evening. The victims are at least three; 12 were injured, including an Italian, a young radio journalist. Seven would be in serious condition, it seems not the Italian boy.

The murderer, according to the first reconstructions, would have fired several shots in the rue del Grandes Arcades, near the very central Place Kleber, where the market is located and would then have fled in the direction of the Grande Rue, where witnesses would have heard other shots. Those present fled amid scenes of panic.
The bomber has been identified, but is still on the run. He had already ended up in prison in the past for assault. He was later reported as a radicalized element and a threat to national security. His name is Cherif C., 29 years old, of North African origins but born in Strasbourg.

While the parliament was armored, on the orders of President Antonio Tajani, and many people remained closed in the building.

“The European Parliament reacts strongly to the violence of terrorists to demonstrate that we are not intimidated by those who want to upset the democratic order and strike freedom, Europe during the Christmas holidays”.
