Meanwhile, on the political front, Silvio Berlusconi asks Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to convene a table on the seismic emergency: “If it is not possible to prevent earthquakes, however, it is necessary to do everything possible to meet the needs of the victims. The government hasn't yet met a table, hasn't told us how it intends to act. You can't waste time."

Renzi, for his part, is pressing the European Union: "It is unthinkable that, for European stability, schools should collapse", he said during a speech at the Milan Polytechnic at a meeting with the rector. The Casa Italia plan, according to the premier "is destined to survive this government".

From the EU comes the availability of support from the president of the EU Commission Juncker and the commissioners for crisis management and regional policies Stylinides and Cretu, who say they are "ready to help with concrete measures" such as the EU civil protection mechanism and the Solidarity fund "if Italy requests it". To do this, at least in relation to the earthquake of August 24, the last date is November 16.
