Earthquake: Errani appointed commissioner, will report to Renzi

Now it's official: “The cabinet approved President Renzi's proposal to appoint Vasco Errani Extraordinary Commissioner of the Government for Reconstruction in the territories affected by the earthquake of last August 24". Palazzo Chigi announced it in a note.

"The Commissioner, reporting directly to the Prime Minister, will coordinate with the State Administrations - continues the note -, in collaboration with the Presidents of the Regions affected by the earthquake and with the Mayors, as well as in close contact with theNational anti-corruption authority, to define plans, programs and resources necessary to rebuild public and private buildings and infrastructures”.

The Presidency of the Council also recalls that Errani "has experience gained as Commissioner delegate for the implementation of the interventions on the Emilian territories affected by the earthquake of 20 and 29 May 2012: a difficult task that he performed with sensitivity, experience and great correctness".

Erran, recently acquitted of the charge of false ideology which had led him to resign as president of the Emilia Romagna Region, is also considered a politician capable of to make the various souls of the Democratic Party dialogue.

Furthermore, since the last catastrophe involved four regions (Lazio, Abruzzo, Marche and Umbria), the government has deemed it appropriate to appoint an outside politician, who has never been involved in any of the four local realities.
