A little after 9 this morning earthquake of magnitude 4,9 with its epicenter in the province of Reggio Emilia it involved a large part of Northern Italy, from Veneto to Liguria, from Tuscany to Alto Adige, including the cities of Milan, Verona, Genoa and Turin.

According to reports from the Institute of Geophysics, the epicenter had a depth of 33,2 kilometers and gave rise to a shock defined as “significant” by experts, followed by another, 20 minutes later, of lower intensity (magnitude 2,3) and with its epicenter in Lombardy.

The most affected provinces are those of Mantua and Reggio Emilia, even if so far neither victims nor significant damages have been recorded. In Milan, some buildings were evacuated and many people poured into the streets: in the centre, people poured into the streets in Piazzale Lugano and in Piazza Cordusio, where customers of the Post Office literally fled the building. Many schools have been temporarily evacuated.

The shock was also felt in Veneto, where in the province of Verona there had been a previous seismic movement around 4,2 am of magnitude XNUMX. Again, no casualties or damage.
