Green light from the decree of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security for Terna's project for the construction of two new electricity connections in the city of Milan. An intervention in which the company that manages the national electricity grid will invest approximately 17 million euros. 

The new electricity connections in Milan

The intervention, explains Terna, "is part of the activities planned to increase the reliability of the power supply of the places where the Olympic and Paralympic Games 'Milan – Cortina 2026'”

Specifically, they are expected two underground cable power lines called Cp Porta Romana – Se Receiver South Milan and Cp Porta Romana – Cp Mugello, 6,5 km long in total which will connect the new “Porta Romana” Primary Cabin of the local distributor.

“These works – continues the company led by CEO Giuseppina Di Foggia – will allow the local network, characterized by high loads especially during the summer period, to be adapted to the growing electricity needs of the Porta Romana district which will host the Olympic Village, and the related railway station".

The company also announced that the executive planning and all the planning will begin soon preparatory activities for the opening of construction sites, with the aim of completing and putting the connections into operation by the second half of 2025.
