Terna relaunches “Cantieri Aperti”: 2 billion contracts online

Terna relaunches the “Cantieri” operation. The group, which is entrusted with the management of the national electricity transmission grid, has not only confirmed its commitment but is still investing to give its concrete contribution to spreading the culture of legality and transparency. One year after its launch and thanks to the work of 50 dedicated people, Open & Transparent Construction Sites – the web space completely dedicated to electrical infrastructure construction sites in Italy – becomes even more interactive, dynamic and fast. Now just slide the mouse over the map of Italy, which can be reached from the home page, and with just two clicks it is possible to see all the projects underway in each of the 20 regions and the details of the 2 billion euro investments that Terna has on the field.

The new web space provides the possibility to make multi-searches by region, construction sites, lines, buildings, cables, electrical stations, with in-depth analysis of the type and number of contracts and subcontracts and the related economic values. Furthermore, you can navigate through individual fields: by contracts, companies, type of work, type of construction site, contractors and subcontractors, with even more economic details divided by work, contracts and regions.

In this way they have been opened to all, and are now also accessible from any electronic device, the details of each contract and subcontract concerning the beyond 176 Terna construction sites in Italy e the names of the 353 companies who work there, engaging 4.000 workers every day. Furthermore, the new graphics created are even more dynamic and intuitive and allow faster access to all this information, with greater usability and clarity for users.

“After starting a fruitful and effective collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza, we were the first in Italy to implement a project such as “Cantieri Aperti & Trasparenti” – he declares Giuseppe Lasco, Director of Terna's Corporate Affairs Division – and a year later we have improved it with even more information in an integrated safety logic. This is confirmation of our commitment to the culture of legality and transparency, both fundamental principles for Terna and to relaunch the development of our country".

In its first twelve months of life, the group specifies, Cantieri Aperti & Trasparenti has established itself as a solid working and communication tool, useful and acquired by all the players involved in the construction of Terna's electricity infrastructures and beyond. This data is demonstrated by the large number of accesses, which have remained constant over time and have confirmed its efficiency as a work tool.

Cantieri Aperti & Trasparenti is the first and only online "window" that allows all citizens, as well as businesses, to enter "Terna's home" to check the progress of large infrastructure works, the economic focus, the number of companies that participated in the tender and the names of the contractors to whom the works have been entrusted.

A project that is the result of Terna's voluntary and responsible commitment to ensure ever greater security for businesses and the community and contribute to promoting a cultural transition that leads towards legality and transparency. Cantieri Aperti & Trasparenti is still today a unique IT tool of its kind at a national level conceived by a company, with dozens of pages that can be viewed and over 10 pieces of information, which are continuously updated. A new, simple and up-to-date way with the most innovative web technologies, where every traceable detail of individual Terna construction sites finds space, from contracts to tenders and, for the first time in Italy, up to subcontracts.

A path that starts from afar and which has allowed the manager of the national electricity grid to choose the path of an "integrated security", also through synergies and protocols with the institutions, making public through its website all the information relating to the works in course of implementation.
