Terna: second closing finalized for the sale of assets in Uruguay for 27 million

The operator of the national electricity grid completed the second closing for the sale of the Group's electricity transmission business in South America. The closing of the other projects in Brazil and Peru will be carried out in stages

Terna completed the second closing for the sale to Cdpq, global investment group, of the Difebal company, owner of a power line in Uruguay of a total of 214 km for a consideration (equity value) of over 27 million euros, in line with the provisions of the agreement.

Based onagreement signed on 29 April, the Italian electricity group is slowly saying goodbye to Brazil, Peru and Uruguay to refocus its international presence "in markets with interesting growth potential and low risk". According to the agreement, in fact, Terna has sold the entire portfolio of electricity lines in South America (1.200 kilometers of networks distributed in Brazil, Peru and Uruguay) for over 265 million euros.

The sale of the other projects will be completed in stages, following the satisfaction of certain conditions.

The group assisted Terna in the transaction as financial advisor Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, while the international firm provided legal support DLA Piper and from Posadas, Posadas & Vecino as local advisor. Cdpq was assisted by the Brazilian law firm Pinheiro Neto Lawyers and Ferrere as local advisor.
