Terna, Next Energy: last days for energy talents

Terna and the Cariplo Foundation draw attention to the project dedicated to recent graduates and start-ups in their first steps or even already underway: for the former, the deadline for presenting their candidacy expires on 8 November; for the latter there is time until November 22nd. The selection envisages the possibility for the youngest to do a 6-month internship at Terna, for start-ups financial support and growth support

There is time until 8 November for recent graduates and until 22 November for teams of innovators and startups who are interested in participating in Next Energy to present their applications, starting a process that will end near summer 2018 The initiative, promoted by Terna and the Cariplo Foundation and created by the Cariplo Factory, after the great success achieved last year (over 200 applications received, 15 selected recent graduates, 9 interns working in the company and 4 startups collaborating with Terna) this year renews the challenge to young Italian energy talents. In fact, the idea of ​​Next Energy was born to enhance and support the growth of innovative ideas and projects, creating employment for young people in the electricity sector.

A concrete programme, consistent with the role of a large infrastructural and strategic Group for the country such as Terna and the only one in Italy to address a vast audience of young people: from individual recent graduates to teams of innovators up to more mature startups. There are two new features this year: the first is the Call for Growth, dedicated to more established startups, ready for the challenges of the market, so as to open up a further channel of Open Innovation, capable of ensuring faster operations than those of less structured startups. The second, an acceleration offer throughout the country, thanks to Cariplo Factory and a network that includes the best Italian incubators. In this way, the selected startups can be followed even more effectively by the structure most suited to their technological innovation.

remember Who is Next Energy for?. First, a recent graduates under the age of 28 with a specialist degree in Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Management or Mechanical Engineering for less than a year (Call for Talents). From here, 10 will be selected who will have the opportunity to carry out a 6-month internship at Terna. And then there are teams of innovators, with at least one member under the age of 35 (Call for Ideas). From here, 10 will be selected who will have access to a program of entrepreneurial empowerment and acceleration for a maximum of 3 months. The project with the greatest potential will be awarded a €50.000 voucher in additional services aimed at the entrepreneurial development of the project itself. In the end, operating startups within the EU that have raised investments of at least € 50.000, developed a customer portfolio or positively tested at least one prototype or marketable product/service and are based on initiatives and/or technologies with a TRL - Technology Readiness Level - between 5 and 8 (Call for Growth). Up to a maximum of 5 startups will be selected to access growITup, the open innovation platform of Cariplo Factory, with the aim of defining potential areas of synergy with Terna and a pilot project to be tested.
