Terna launches the inclusion project for people with disabilities Terna Ability: here's how it works

On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Terna, the national electricity grid manager, presents Terna Ability, an inclusion project dedicated to people with disabilities. The initiative aims to promote work integration and reduce inequalities in access to the world of work, through concrete and targeted actions.

Through this program, the Terna Group, under the leadership of Giuseppina Di Foggia, intends to go beyond legal obligations, promoting the integration of people with disabilities into the world of work. The initiative focuses on the causes that generate inequalities, aiming to improve access and participation in working life, while promoting value and social innovation.

Terna Ability: the initiatives

Terna Ability is structured in various initiatives, organised into four main action areas: Culture and awareness, Recruiting and Employee Journey, Network and Alliances, and Internal and external communication. The goal is to initiate a cultural change that promotes greater awareness, overcoming stereotypes and offering new opportunities to enhance disability.

Among the main projects developed by the Group are:

  • Disability Toolkit: a complete guide to corporate inclusion, with details on incentives and benefits available at national and company level.
  • Terna Ability Corner: individual listening and support meetings, organized by the Diversity & Inclusion function, dedicated to people with disabilities and colleagues who work with them.
  • Terna Ability Workshop: career guidance courses, in collaboration with Italian universities, for students and graduates with disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD). So far, 10 meetings have been held at the Universities of Roma Tre, Palermo, Salerno and Cagliari, to guide participants towards professional opportunities in companies and develop self-efficacy.

The Terna Ability programme is also part of the broader ESG Plan of the group, which includes initiatives to promote inclusive language, raise awareness on disability issues and ensure equal access opportunities through training for those involved in personnel selection.
