Terna launches "Next Energy": competition for young talents

The third edition of “Next Energy” is underway, the initiative promoted by Terna and the Cariplo Foundation and created by Cariplo Factory in collaboration with the Terna Campus for the development of youth employment and entrepreneurship.

The competition covers three sectors:

  • young graduates under the age of 28 who have obtained a specialist degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Economics for less than 12 months with a mark of no less than 110/110 or 100/100 ("Call For Talents"), who they will have access to an internship at Terna structures involved in the development of innovative projects;
  • team of innovators, with at least one person under the age of 35 on the date of submission of the application and a project based on initiatives and/or technologies with a level of TRL, Technology Readiness Level, between 2 and 5 ("Call for Ideas "). The best project will be awarded a prize of 50.000 euros (voucher in acceleration and go-to-market services) and the 10 selected teams of innovators and/or startups will have access to an incubation program lasting up to 3 months.
  • Startups and innovative companies operating mainly in the EU, which have already developed a customer portfolio or have successfully tested at least one prototype or have a marketable product/service, and are based on initiatives and/or technologies with a TRL level between 5 and 8 (“Call for Growth”). Up to a maximum of 5 startups or innovative companies will be selected to access growITup, the open innovation platform of Cariplo Factory, with the aim of defining potential areas of synergy with Terna and a pilot project to be tested.
