Promote startups, bring together international industry and innovation players and share technological solutions for a fair energy and digital transition: Terna he organized a San Francisco theInnovation Zone Forum, a series of events dedicated to the valorization of the startups with which the group collaborates and to the comparison with European and American energy players, and American investors, on the challenges and innovative technologies linked to the future of the electrical system.

Terna, what is the Innovation Zone Forum for?

In a sector that aims at sustainability and efficiency, Terna faces an ambitious challenge: to manage a increasingly complex transmission network, focused on the renewables, non-programmable and intermittent. The group has the responsibility to create the electrical system of the future and enable a twin transition, energy and digital, that is fair and makes the system not only reliable, but also accessible to all.

The Innovation Zone Forum was therefore Terna's first initiative to respond to this global challenge, bringing together international energy and innovation players around the same table, and adopting an open innovation approach as a tool to implement cutting-edge technologies in a decarbonized future e digitized.

The Forum, organized by Terna with the support of the Italian Innovation Center at Innovit (Italian Innovation and Culture Hub), the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco and the partner Mind the Bridge, brought together in California clean tech investors from Silicon Valley, European and US exponents of the energy world, startups and representatives of the research world. The Terna delegation was led by the CEO and General Manager Josephine of Foggia, who commented: “Terna aims to confirm itself as a leading company in technological innovation at the service of a fair energy and digital transition. The Innovation Zone Forum has consolidated our role as an aggregator of international innovation players, starting with those in the energy sector”.

Di Foggia underlined that “San Francisco is the ideal place to tackle the technological challenges of the transition together: our approach is oriented towards collaboration with the most accredited technological players, carried out through the Terna Innovation Zones, nerve centers of our presence in global innovation ecosystems”.
