Until 16 September it is possible sign up for free to the "Driving Energy Award 2022 – Contemporary Photography”, the competition launched by Terna, which received the Medal of the President of the Republic, is open to all and is aimed at supporting and promoting the cultural development of the country.

The theme of the first edition of the competition is "Cameras on Driving Energy": the authors of the works are invited to turn their gaze to the contemporary to provide an artistic vision of Terna's mission, in its role as director and enabler of the energy transition.

Driving Energy Award 2022 – Contemporary Photography

Two categories of photographers in competition: young (up to 30 years) e senior (from 31 years old). The Prize is curated by Marco Delogu, himself a photographer, editor and curator of Exhibitions. The images will be selected by a Jury composed of Salvatore Settis, art historian and academic, Lorenza Talented, curator of the photography, cinema and new media sector at the Milan Triennale; Elisa Medde, editor, curator and writer of photography; Emanuele Trevi, writer and literary critic, Strega Prize 2021; Massimiliano Paolucci, director of External Relations, Institutional Affairs and Sustainability of Terna. They will be joined by a sixth personality whose name will be communicated on May 30th. The six jurors in their work will have the support not only of the curator, but also of the Presidential Committee of the Prize, composed of Valentina Bosetti e Stefano Donnarumma, respectively president and chief executive officer of Terna.

The Jury, after having selected the finalists, will give names and categories of 5 winners: Senior, who will win a prize of 15.000 euros, Young, who will be awarded a prize of 5.000 euros, and three Special Mentions, each of which will be awarded a prize of 2.000 euros.

In particular, the before purchasing, Mention it will be assigned to the most voted photograph by the over 5.100 people who work at Terna, who will have the opportunity to view the images on the new TernaCult corporate portal, dedicated precisely to the themes of art and culture. There second , third mention will be attributed to the photographic works which, according to the Jury, will best interpret two thematic ideas of particular relevance and relevance, inspired by the values ​​of inclusion and environmental sustainability, pillars of Terna's action: “Contemporary Normality” and “Circularity. Courses and appeals”.

The finalist photographic works will be exhibited in November in an exhibition set up by Terna in Rome, al Palace of Expositions, which will be inaugurated with the announcement of the five winners and will be open to the public free of charge.
