Terna, Enel and Juve keep the stock market afloat

Final swing for the European lists, which score another positive session thanks to the recovery of Wall Street, currently on parity. Piazza Affari rises by 0,63% and has reached the top for a month at 19.300 points, driven by an irrepressible Juventus, +4,59%, in the wake of rumors about the transfer market. According to the English newspapers, in fact, the negotiations to bring Aaron Ramsey to the Juventus club are at a very advanced stage.

In the rest of Europe the plus sign is missing Paris, -0,16. Frankfurt +0,26% stops on the rise; Madrid +0,38%, London +0,54%. Toned Zurich +1,56%.

Wall Street, after a weak opening, attempts to move into the green. A breath of optimism comes from the White House, with Donald Trump very satisfied for how the negotiations went in Beijing on tariffs. In fact, for the US president, the three days of confrontation was a "great success".

Internal affairs are much worse. “It's easier to deal with China – he says before flying to Texas – than with the democratic” opposition. The shutdown of the federal government today reaches its twentieth day, while a new intervention by Jerome Powell, chairman of the Fed, is also awaited.

Raw materials are down slightly. Brent-type oil fell by 0,28% to 61,27 dollars a barrel. Gold also adjusts its price slightly lower to $1289,24 an ounce.

Il euro-dollar exchange rate falls from the highs for three months in the 1,151 area, after going as high as 1,1581 during the Italian night. The prevalence over the pound is also reduced, slipping after the British premier, Theresa May, had lost twice in parliament on the issue of Brexit, leaving room for the hypothesis of new general elections.

In Piazza Affari, apart from Juventus, Diasorin, +1,61% and Cnh +1,84% are appreciated. Good utilities with Terna +2,25% and Enel +1,67%. However, A2a is the worst stock in the Ftse Mib, with a drop of 3,41%. Amplifon loses share, -2,42%. Sales on Azimut -1,36% and Leonardo -1,07%. Fashion is down with Moncler -1,59% and Tod's -4,32%. On the other hand, Geox shines +3,81% which in mid-December reached an all-time low.

In the auto sector, the subject of profit taking throughout Europe, Fiat appreciates, +0,78%, which has reached a settlement with the US Department of Justice and the state of California to settle the civil lawsuit over the use of illegal software to allow diesel emission limits to be exceeded, accepting a payment of 305 million dollars. FCA, according to Reuters, should also pay up to 280 million to resolve disputes with the owners of diesel cars. This is a total figure already set aside by the automaker and far from the maximum fine it could suffer of over 4 billion dollars.

The bond stock moved little, looking forward to tomorrow's Treasury auctions, when it will make available up to 6,5 billion euros in 3, 7 and 30-year BTPs. The ten-year yield remains at 2,9% while the spread with the Bund is 263.50 points (+0,69%).
