In the first half, on the other hand, investments reached 601,9 million euros, up by 40,6% compared to the 428 million euros of the corresponding period of 2020.

“Terna is the director of the energy transition and it is therefore in our DNA to commit ourselves daily to the service of Italy and the community: from this point of view, the strong acceleration of our investments continued in the second quarter of 2021 which, in addition to being natively sustainable, are essential to enable decarbonisation and to allow our country to achieve the objectives of reducing emissions and developing renewable sources" he declared Stefano Donnarumma, CEO and director of Terna.

Let's move on to snam. In the first half of the current year, the company led by Marco Alverà registered revenues equal to 1,627 billion euros, up 13,4% compared to the same period of 2020, thanks to the "contribution of investments and the growth of energy transition businesses", underlines the group in a note.

Finally, net financial debt as at 30 June it amounted to 14,148, up by 1,25 billion compared to the end of 2021 “due to the acquisition of the stake in Industrie De Nora, the growth of the investment plan, working capital linked to the development of the deep renovation business and for a seasonal effect due to the balancing activity”, explains Snam.

By virtue of the results achieved, the company has confirmed the guidance on net profit, which should reach around 1,17 billion euro at the end of the year.

“The first half results confirm the solidity of our core business, which continues to grow to the benefit of the security of supply and the energy transition in the territories in which we operate. In particular, in the first six months of the year we increased investments in Italy by more than 20% to modernize our network, reduce emissions to achieve the carbon neutrality goal by 2040 and become the most technologically advanced operator in the world of the sector.

The half-year figures also benefit from the positive performance of our holdings, the strong growth in energy efficiency activities and the reduction in financial charges. Our projects continue to encourage the development of renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane and their use in existing infrastructures, as well as initiatives in sustainable finance, with the issue of bonds linked to the energy transition for over 1,2 billion euros in just first half,” he commented Marco Alverà, CEO of Snam.
