Terna, the company that manages the national electricity grid, and the Guardia di Finanza, renew their alliance for the protection of the construction of electricity infrastructures with regular procedures, transparent and in contrast to criminal infiltration in the numerous construction sites that Terna has started throughout the country. The main points of the agreement are three:

  • the protection of the regularity and transparency of the procedures for awarding works, services and supplies;
  • the contrast to the phenomena of undeclared work and irregular contributions;
  • the prevention of attempts at criminal infiltration into the economic fabric.

Significant novelty of this renewed agreement is the monitoring of economic support provided by Terna to territorial redevelopment projects (environmental and urban) of public utility for the compensation and environmental rebalancing deriving from the construction of electrical works. In this regard, a single contact point has been identified in Terna for all information or documentation needs relating to investigative activities, which will report to the Special Anti-Corruption Unit qualified data and news as well as context analyzes useful for pursuing the collaborative purposes.

In order to consolidate the knowledge and skills of the personnel concerned, the agreement also provides for the possibility for Terna to promote and organize meetings, seminars and courses for its employees, also making use of qualified members of the Guardia di Finanzaas teachers.

“The signing of this agreement – commented Terna's CEO Luigi Ferraris – consolidates the fruitful collaboration that already exists between Terna and the Guardia di Finanza. We are proud to continue on this path and make an effective contribution to safeguarding the construction of strategic infrastructures for the country".
