No more wild telemarketing to the detriment of citizens. The Court of Cassation severely sanctioned Fastweb, rejecting its appeal, for having used the public telephone directories in an irregular manner without the knowledge of the subscribers in order to support its promotional offers.
The telephone company, controlled by Swisscom, will therefore have to pay a super fine of 300 thousand euros for having used public directories without the consent of the interested parties.
The intervention of the Cassation puts an end to a long dispute initiated by the Privacy Guarantor in defense of citizens and consumers targeted by wild telemarketing.
