Dutch telecom operator KPN has announced that it has sold its German subsidiary E-Plus to Spanish group Telefonica for €5 billion and a 17,6% stake in Telefonica Deutschland. Subject to the approval of the competent authorities, the sale should make it possible to generate synergies on the German mobile communications market for an estimated value of 5,5 billion euros, as indicated by Telefonica in a press release.
