Telecom, green light to F2i and Rai Way for Persidera but there is another offer

On the table of Telecom Italia board of directors yesterday a last minute offer for Persidera rained down. This is the private equity fund Isquared which has put 290-300 million on the plate, with an offer, however, conditional on carrying out a due diligence. The sales process it ended with only the binding offer of the Raiway-F2i tandem which valued the mux company (the channels for digital terrestrial transmission) at 250 million and which was judged satisfactory, even if Tim said he was open to considering other hypotheses. The offer is non-binding and unsolicited.

“Tim's Board of Directors – reads a note released by the TLC company – met in Milan and examined and positively evaluated, by a majority vote, the Persidera purchase proposal received from F2i and Rai Way, considering that the investment does not represent a strategic asset for Tim. The Board has therefore given a mandate to the Chief Executive Officer Amos Genish to finalize the transaction, it being understood that any further possible binding offer will be taken into consideration. In voluntary application of the regulations for transactions with related parties, the transaction was supported by the opinion of the Control and Risk Committee, given by the majority of its members”.
