Standard & Poor's upgrades Telecom Italia's short-term rating from A-3 to A-2. This was communicated by the American agency, emphasizing that the improvement is due to the application of new criteria. Basically, a link is established between the short-term and long-term ratings (confirmed at BBB for Telecom) considering the liquidity indicators, which in the case of the big Italian telephony company is judged "adequate" by S&P.
The negative outlook on the long-term rating of the Italian group (justified by the risks associated with the "adverse economic situation in Italy") no longer limits the short-term rating.
Today in Piazza Affari, Telecom shares lost 1,8%.
