A total of 25 cities will be served by Telecom Italia's ultra-broadband, based on the FTTCab (Fiber to the Cabinet) architecture, after the initial launch which involved Rome, Turin and Naples. This was stated in a note from the company, recalling that the laying of optical fiber has been started in 33 cities, which will become 125 by 2015, covering almost 8 million real estate units (35% of the landline telephone population).

In Milan, 100 Megabit connections are also available thanks to the FTTH (Fiber To The Home) architecture which provides fiber to homes and offices.
