Telecom, Recchi: "We will evaluate Vivendi's entry into the board after meeting"

"We will talk about it when we meet, we will make considerations, but all according to the principles of a public company listed on the markets with many institutional investors".

Thus the president of Telecom, Giuseppe Recchi, replied to journalists who asked him about a possible entry into the board of directors of the company by Vivendi, which in the past few hours announced that it had risen to 14,9% of the capital. To those who asked him whether the board of directors could decide today to convene a meeting for French shareholders to join the board, Recchi specified that the agenda "no meeting call is foreseen". As for the meeting with the new French shareholder, "it's not yet on the agenda but we imagine it will happen soon", he concluded.

After the strengthening of Vivendi's share in Telecom, the rumors credit the French group with a request for two seats on the board of directors. An impossible operation without the resignation of as many directors on the current board where, however, there does not seem to be anyone willing to give way to the newcomers. For this reason, there are those who have spoken of a shareholders' meeting to be convened ad hoc to raise the number of members of the board of directors from the current 13 to 15. The hypothesis that Recchi, with today's statement, seems to have rejected.
