Telecom presents the strategic plan to the unions

The Chief Executive Officer of the Telecom Italia Group, Marco Patuano, illustrated today to the unions the Industrial Plan 2016-2018 which envisages a further acceleration of the investment program over the period of the plan, in continuity with what has already been achieved in the last year.

Going into detail, the plan provides almost 12 billion in investments on the national territory, of which approximately 6,7 billion dedicated exclusively to the innovative component (Ngn, Lte, Cloud and platforms, Sparkle and Transformation).

“This plan confirms us as leaders in the infrastructural development and digitization of the country – said Marco Patuano. – We expect, in fact, to reach 2018% of the population with optical fiber and 84% with the LTE (98G) mobile network by the end of 4".

3,6 billion will be allocated to investments relating to the fiber optic development, while 1,2 billion will be used to finance the extension of the LTE mobile ultra-broadband network. Finally, 400 billion euros over the three-year period will go towards the implementation of Telecom Italia Sparkle activities.

Patuano also highlighted that: "For our Group, 2016 represents an important year in the transition from a traditional Telco to a Digital Telco & Platform Company enabling the country's digital life: a business model based on innovative infrastructures and excellent customer service that increasingly focuses on the dissemination of premium digital services and content offered within a customizable platform. A path aimed at consolidating our leadership and supporting the future growth of our company.”

Despite the announcement, Telecom Italy travels in deep red on Piazza Affari. The title is approaching the close with a drop of 4,1% to 0,978 euros.
