"A council was originally scheduled for the 19th, now a restricted meeting on the future of the group is scheduled," says a source quoted by the agency. A second source claims that "a meeting between the shareholders on the plan" is scheduled for Telecom.
Telefonica owns 46,18% of Telco, the holding company that controls 22,4% of Telecom Italia. Also included are Generali (with 30,58%), Intesa Sanpaolo and Mediobanca (both with 11,62%).
In the middle of the morning, the Telecom share price fell by 0,6%.
