Telecom, no to Infratel tender: "Go ahead alone"

Today's "rejection" is therefore a confirmation of what has already been established and envisaged in the 2017-2019 Strategic Plan, also presented by the company to the financial community - Tim will ensure the Fiber Ultrabroadband service to 95% of homes by 2019, increasing and accelerating your coverage plan.

Telecom, no to Infratel tender: "Go ahead alone"

Telecom Italia has not submitted any offers for the second call for tenders announced by Infratel for the construction and management of an ultrabroadband infrastructure in the white areas of 10 Italian regions.

This was announced by the same company which explained in a note that it had made a choice "consistent with what was already communicated at the time to the Ministry of Economic Development and to Infratel itself".

OpEn Fiber, the company owned by Enel and Cdp, has instead delivered the documentation and will therefore participate. The Tender concerns, in detail, the creation of an ultrabroadband infrastructure in the white areas of Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Liguria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Campania, Basilicata, Sicily and the Autonomous Province of Trento. There are 1,2 billion euros on the plate. The tender expired today at 13.

At the end of last year, Tim updated its investment plan by selectively providing coverage with ultra-broadband networks to some white areas of the Regions covered by the Infratel tenders. Tim will ensure the Ultrabroadband service in fiber to 95% of homes by 2019, increasing and accelerating its coverage plan. Lastly, the company underlines that the results of the tender will have no managerial, strategic or market positioning impact.
