“We want to accelerate the consolidation. If you go to China, Spain or the USA, it is a decision that Telecom and its board must evaluate". This is what Mediobanca's managing director Alberto Nagel expressed on the bank's planned exit from Telco-Telecom.
Nagel also expressed his views on the unbundling of the Telecom network. "The advantages are by no means obvious - he said - Telecom has something unique which is the network, but separating it must be something unique for management". "The advantages deriving from this type of process - he continued - must be greater than the disadvantages but I believe that the answer can only be given at the end of this story".
