Any hypothesis of agreements relating to the dossier on the network and on the integration of 3 Italia is premature. A Telecom Italia spokesman writes this in a note in reference to some press rumors circulated today.
“The possible integration operations of 3 Italia and the separation of the access network will be subject to examination by the Board of Directors already scheduled for May 8 and any decisions taken will be communicated to the market – explains the note -. At present, any possibility of concluding agreements with possible partners in the mobile or fixed sector, corporate architectures and listing prospects for a possible 'Network Company' should be considered premature and the subject of mere speculation”.
Today Il Messaggero speaks of an acceleration both in terms of the integration of 3 Italia and in the negotiations for the unbundling of the network with the entry of the Italian Strategic Fund of the Cdp. In particular, writes the Roman daily, the merger of 3 would provide for the entry into the Telecom Italia shareholding structure of the Chinese of Hutchison Whampoa: an alternative to the outright sale by Telco of the Telecom share held, would be to let Hutchison enter the holding, with a dedicated increase in order to reduce debts, therefore the eastern giant could rake in shares on the stock market up to the takeover bid threshold.
On the network front, writes il Messaggero, the president Franco Bernabè will bring to the board a draft agreement with the Italian Strategic Fund which contemplates the spin-off of the network with the listing of a share of the new vehicle and the sale of 15-20% to FSI .
After a morning in broadly positive territory, the Telecom Italia stock retraced slightly at the beginning of the afternoon and gained just over half a point.
