Telecom Italia: Vivendi rises to 20,03% with the aim of developing activities in Southern Europe

With a note, the French company Vivendi announced that it holds 20,03 of Telecom Italia ordinary shares and reiterated its intention to be "a long-term shareholder of the telecommunications operator" and to develop its activities in Southern Europe Yesterday, in Piazza Affari, Telecom shares closed up 5,35%

Vivendi is above 20% of Telecom: it holds 20,03% of the ordinary shares of Telecom Italia. The French company announces it in a note reaffirming its intention "to be a long-term shareholder of the telecommunications operator" and "more generally, to develop its activities in Southern Europe".

Vivendi became Telecom's first shareholder 
Italy on 24 June last with 14,9%, after having taken over a share 8,24% by Telefonica as part of the sale of the subsidiary Gvt and for purchases on the market equal to 6,6% of the capital.

La participation then rose to 15,48%, a share announced on 9 September and subsequently to 19,88%, announced through a notification to the Sec American on October 5th. On that occasion Vivendi had specified that the total price of the acquisition in the consolidated financial statements is 3.054 billion lire euros, equal to approximately 1.14 euros per ordinary share.

Yesterday, in Piazza Affari the title Telecom closed up 5,35% at 1,143 euros, with trades supported.
