Telecom Italia, title tries to hook up to 1 euro

Telecom Italia is trying to reinstate the assault on the 1 euro quota on the Stock Exchange. The quotations go up by 2% to € 0,9925 exploiting the attention on the stock induced by the evolution of the complex Metroweb dossier and by the hypotheses on the movements in the shareholding structure following the now imminent spin-off of the Telco holding.

The latest reconstructions on the state of the Metroweb project hypothesize a joint venture between Telecom and the broadband company, capitalized with 800 million, and the prospect of total control of Telecom in the new company by 2020 in exchange for the entry of CDP and F2i into the TLC group. In terms of Telecom's shareholding reorganisation, first of all we look at Vivendi moves, which will inherit the Telefonica package becoming the first shareholder, up to the rumors of private equity funds at the window and new M&A hypotheses in the sector. "The dissolution of Telco represents a moment of discontinuity for Telecom Italia which could become a public company if Vivendi is not interested in playing a role of reference" he writes Intermonte.

These reasonings are part of a very lively phase from the point of view of market attention for operations M&A between TLCs. In Paris, the Bouygues shares they rise by 3% and are the best of the Cac40 on the rumors of negotiations with Altice for the sale of Bouygues Telecom: contacts denied by the French group according to which "no negotiations are underway" regarding its telephone company.
